Job Summary:
To assist us in expanding our computing infrastructure, our expanding company is seeking an effective systems engineer. Working with a group of IT experts, the systems engineer’s duties include designing, configuring, and maintaining a computer network, including the hardware, software, and system architecture.
The systems engineer must be a highly driven, results-oriented person who can develop the ideal solution for the higher-level requirements of our company in order to succeed in this role. In addition to having outstanding communication and listening skills, the top applicant will be able to articulate why their solutions are the most appropriate for our needs.

Your Role and Responsibilities
- directing the creation and setup of new computer and networking infrastructures.
- utilizing expertise in a variety of available technologies to choose the best options.
- keeping an eye on the current network’s systems to make sure there are no interruptions in productivity.
- installing and setting up applications and operating systems.
- putting best practices for data backups and system security into practice.
- recognizing potential problems or bottlenecks and coming up with potential fixes.
- identifying and fixing any technical problems as they appear.
- maintaining good communication with IT support personnel to guarantee a seamless setup procedure.
- communicating with suppliers and updating pertinent parties on developments.

Qualifications and skills:
- Information systems, computer science, or a similar discipline at the bachelor’s degree level (a master’s degree is preferred).
- demonstrated ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot systems based on UNIX.
- experience configuring software for automation and writing scripts (e.g., using Perl, Ruby, and Python).
- outstanding familiarity with networking technologies (TCP/IP, OSI network layers).
- knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and administration.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
